We believe that the big cat in the wilds next to us, or the wolf or another animal must of got him. We miss him.

My dog that had cancer on his nose, had to be put to sleep.

There is no cure for that type of cancer, as it is very aggressive. We were able to keep him comfortable, but we did not want him to suffer, just for us.

One thing I did learn, was that the reason they loose so much weight, is the cancer uses up all the calories. I gave him extra calories in his food as a treat, just to help.

Now this a new year, and more for us to learn about our animals and more love to give to the ones we have.

Don't Forget the Cats

I start off on a line of DOG CHATTER, but what about our CATS?

Each cat has it's own identity, and for those who say cats are not dedicated, loving and playful like a dog, does not own a cat.

I have a Miss Priss and she is all of that. She is a very old lady now, but my other cats and the dogs do her bidding. She can't hear, so she will walk up to your ear in the middle of the night and let out a LOUD mewo to tell you that her food dish is empty. I'm not the one that is hard of hearing, just was the one that was sleeping.

Then there is Hobbs (the slobs), who has the horizontal strip syndrom. Meaning his widith would look better if he had vertical stripes. He is the kissy kissy cat.

Now comes Taz the man. He is the hunter (he is the youngest), the macho man, the "hey pull my tail" so I can run down the road in front of you and flop down waiting for the hand down the back and up the tail. He walks the mile with no problems. He is also the one who can herd my Lab to the area where he wants the dog to go, and then reaches up to give him a head butt to say I love you.

I is not easy to feed three so different cats. One needs senior food, one needs diet food, and one needs his energy food. I have to be creative to get them to eat their own food.

Please check out this link to Ostlerpetlover.com. They say that it is easier to digest and the by product (POOP) is less smelly. Has anyone out there tried this?

I do know that I have given raw carrots to my puppies for a chew toy. It was less expensive and if they did chew it up and digested it, they got good nurishment and maybe not so hungry latter. Well maybe not too much more than our grandchildren.

We share what works for the bad breath on our dog, or maybe how can we help our pet with arthritis, without having to go spend lots of money at the vet, just to learn that arthritis comes from old age.

Don't get me wrong, I love our vet and she takes wonderful care of our many pets, BUT if I can help them out so they do not have to go the vet so often, I feel better.

I wonder if "an apple a day keeps the Doctor away" works for the vets too?

Now it is so handy to go to the computer and find what it takes to make our cuddly friends feel better and live longer.
